Ha Long Bay is a famous destination for one- to three-day boat trips among its scenic limestone islands. There are many kinds of boat from normal boat to luxury junk with well decoration cabins. Cruising on the emerald water and staying overnight on board is unforgettable travel experience to most visitors once have come here.

Dozens of small family-operated boats ply the Perfume River in Hue, taking visitors to the imperial tombs southwest of the city and historical sights along the river.

Snorkel - fishing - lunch trips are available from Nha Trang, Hoi An, and Phu Quoc to nearby islands. Among cruises at sea, those that serve the islands off Nha Trang attract many tourists. It is very convenient to go by boat of the Mekong Delta in Phu Quoc Island.

You can use hydrofoils which can greatly reduce your transport time, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau (A 90-minute hydrofoil boat operates from Saigon to the seaside resort of Vung Tau for about 120,000 dong each way - the fastest way to reach the beach from the city), or between or Can Tho and Chau Doc. In the North, a hydrofoil also serves daily journey Hai Phong and Cat Ba Island. A high-speed boat is also available from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

Today, luxury cruise ships docked in ports in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hai Phong.
